Can you tell me about the Women's Center and "Women in Transition?"

Women's Center / "Women in Transition" (formerly Transitions to Success)

Lane has a commitment in helping women to feel supported in the college environment. The Women's Program helps women of diverse backgrounds create community, gain skills, find resources, and pursue educational and life goals.

The Women's Center is located in Building 1 Room 202, which is the Student Services Building, on the second floor. It's a busy, welcoming place where you can study, use the lending library and computers with help available, attend brown bag lunches on women's issues, get emotional and academic support about your life and your education, and generally just have a place where you can always feel comfortable at Lane.

The Women in Transition Program is an entry program designed to help single mothers and other women in the midst of life transitions become economically self-sufficient through access to education, training, and employment. The classes are there to help you feel ready for your college experience, in an all-woman environment, and most women qualify for financial aid which can pay for your classes and help you with living expenses.
