How do I check the status of my financial aid application?
Checking the Status of a Financial Aid Application
The best way to follow your progress with financial aid is to log into your myLane account!
In myLane, go to the "myFinances" tab to view all your financial information.Click the "Student Requirements" link. Choose the aid year you are checking.
If Lane has received your FAFSA, then there will be a list of any forms or other documentation required for your award package to be processed. Be sure to complete ALL "Requested" items as quickly as possible. (If you do not see anything or have a strange message under "Student Requirements" be sure Lane has your Social Security Number on file with Enrollment Services)
You should also check the links for "Financial Aid Holds", and "Financial Aid Academic Progress", as these can also affect whether you are awarded.
If you have submitted forms or documentation to Lane's Financial Aid office, you can check the status here, as it will show "Received, Not Yet Reviewed". There may also be a "hold" placed called "Awaiting Advisor Review", which indicates something is received but hasn't been processed yet.
In the center of the main "myFinances" tab, you will find a chart that indicates a general date for each type of document typically submitted by financial aid students, with a date currently being looked at. If you have turned in a form, then you can look at this chart to see how close we are to the date you turned yours in. This gives you an idea how soon yours will be reviewed.
Usually, financial aid awards are packaged about 1-2 weeks from the date all items go to "Satisfied" status, as long as there are no holds and you are in good academic standing. If you have completed a FAFSA for the NEXT financial aid year, and all requirements are in "Satisfied" status, the earliest award letters will be packaged approximately the first week of June.
