What are the eligibility requirements for financial aid?
Eligibility Requirements for Financial Aid
To be eligible for financial aid, the first step is to make sure you have completed all the documentation you have been asked to provide. You will receive a letter in the mail when we get your FAFSA information telling you what is needed, and you can also find this list under on the "myFinances" tab of myLane. To be awarded financial aid, you MUST have completed either a high school diploma or a GED. As long as you have this, there is no age requirement.
Once you have an award letter, your requirements each term will be to:
-
Make sure you are enrolled for the correct number of credits by the second Tuesday of each term. At least half-time enrollment is usually what you need for most grants and all loans.
-
Be sure you are in "Good", "Warning" or "Probation" SAP standing before the term starts, or submit an appeal as soon as possible if you are "Suspended".
-
Check to make sure there are no financial aid "holds" preventing you from getting paid.
-
Complete at least 67% of your attempted credits with at least a "C" average (2.0 GPA). These are cumulative numbers, so if you have attended more than one term, you may be affected by past terms as well. If you feel you may have to drop classes in the middle of the term, contact Enrollment and Student Financial Services and Financial Aid for advice before you do!
-
Make sure you know how your refund will be paid and if you want to change your payment method (options are Direct Deposit or BankMobile Vibe Account).
-
Every term, review the "Terms and Conditions" statement you signed in your myLane award information, just to be sure you are on track.
