How and where can I purchase books and supplies?

Titan Store

The Titan Store is located on Lane's main campus in the Center Building.

The Titan store is a college-owned, self supporting auxiliary service
returning revenue to Lane Community College.

The required materials are displayed on shelves by course number and instructor, so you are sure to get the correct text, etc. Store staff are available to help you find what you need.
You can charge your purchases, up to a limit of $500 through CreditLine, to your myLane student account, if you have a current year award letter (or if you have received notification  that you do not qualify for need-based aid, but may request an Unsubsidized Stafford Loan) from Lane's Financial Aid Office
This is a change from prior policy that only required a FAFSA (financial aid application) on file with Lane.

You also must be registered in your classes for the term.

How to charge books and supplies:

  • You may only charge until the third Tuesday of each term. If you get financial aid, and it pays before you charge, you must remember that you need to pay the charge yourself, as additional financial aid will not go out just because a new charge is on your account.
  • Print your class schedule from myLane the day you go to the Titan Store.
  • Bring photo ID.
  • Be sure you check your student account in myLane to make sure that it gets paid by the deadline. Even if you have financial aid, it is important to keep track of your account and be sure it gets paid in a timely manner.

What about other purchasing options?
You may purchase books elsewhere, however it is your responsibility to make sure you communicate with your instructor to ensure you get the correct items.
The Book Consignment Club

The student Book Consignment Club is a great option for you! The student book consignment will sell your books for a 10% operating fee so that they can stay open.  The books are priced cheaper than the bookstore and more money is offered in buy back but they may not sell or may take a while to sell. If you have any questions stop by the Book Consignment which is located in the center building at the entrance to the library.

Off campus
You can also buy and sell used books online and at various bookstores around town. It is your responsibility to make sure you get the correct edition required by your instructor so double check before buying any books off campus. Books may be cheaper online but may take up to several weeks to ship so be sure to order early!
