What is SOAR?
SOAR stands for Student Orientation and Registration. SOAR is for new students and helps you figure out your plans for your future. You will meet with the academic advisor for your degree program, and have an opportunity to meet other new students in your program. If you are undecided about what to study, you will be given information about classes to begin with.
As an added benefit you will be able to register right after taking SOAR instead of having to wait for the new student registration. That means you'll be more likely to get into important classes that you will need.
To participate in SOAR, you must be admitted to Lane, have an L number, and you must have completed placement testing so advisors will know which courses you should begin with.
The link to the SOAR information page with important dates and registration information can be found in "Steps to Enroll in Credit Classes" from the Lane home page in the box labeled "Student Announcements".
